The traditional village of Trunyan is inhabited by indigenous Balinese people - the Bali Aga. It is located on Lake Batur. The village is interesting because all residents observe the ancient customs of the Bali Aga.
One of these customs is funerals, where the bodies of the deceased are placed in open-air pits and covered with clothing and bamboo. The village cemetery can only be reached by boat; there is no road by land.
