Nusa Penida in 48 Hours: The Island’s Must-See Highlights

Nusa Penida is one of the most scenic islands near Bali.

Tall limestone cliffs, small coves and bright turquoise water create the very landscapes that make the island instantly recognizable in photos.
It's about 40 minutes from Bali by speedboat, but the atmosphere on Nusa Penida feels completely different: the terrain is harsher, the coastline rocky, and there are plenty of natural sites shaped by the ocean.
One of the island's best-known spots is Kelingking Beach. A huge limestone headland, whose outline is often compared to a dinosaur, rises above a small stretch of white sand. Most travelers admire it from the viewpoint, but you can also hike down closer to the water.

Another unusual part of the coast is Broken Beach. Here the sea has carved a huge natural arch through the rock, forming an almost enclosed lagoon of turquoise water. Nearby is Angel's Billabong, a natural pool among the rocks that fills with clear ocean water when the sea is calm.
After the rocky coastline, the route leads to Crystal Bay, a small cove with a calmer feel and clear water. This is a good place to relax on the beach and spend some time by the ocean before continuing to explore the island.

In two days you can see Nusa Penida from more than just dry land. Coral reefs lie off its shores, along with several interesting snorkeling spots. On a boat trip you can see tropical fish and corals, and if conditions are right, encounter the manta rays that live in the waters around the island.
It's precisely the overnight format that lets you experience Nusa Penida in a completely different way than on a standard day trip. There's no need to squeeze several locations, the drive across the island and the return to Bali into a few hours. You have time for the most famous landscapes, for the beach and for the underwater world, without constant rushing or the pressure of catching the boat back the same day.
And MyBaliTrips will help you arrange a two-day trip to Nusa Penida so that all you have to do is pick the dates and enjoy the journey.
