From 2 to 15 June, a trial traffic scheme will be introduced at two junctions: Jalan Hang Tuah — Jalan Danau Beratan and Jalan Hang Tuah — Jalan Sedap Malam. This is an area in South Denpasar that many people pass through on the way to Sanur Port, as well as to beaches and hotels. Bali Province’s Transport Agency says the trial is in response to congestion on Jalan Hang Tuah.

At the Hang Tuah — Danau Beratan junction, some right turns will be temporarily removed. Drivers travelling westbound on Hang Tuah will not be allowed to turn right onto Danau Beratan and will be directed to make a U-turn via the Sanur junction.
The same restriction will apply to those exiting Danau Beratan. It will not be possible to turn right onto Hang Tuah towards the Sanur junction; traffic will be routed via Danau Buyan. Water-filled barriers will be installed to separate the traffic flows.
At the Hang Tuah — Sedap Malam junction, the traffic lights and lane allocation will be adjusted. On the westbound approach to Hang Tuah, turning left onto Sedap Malam will be allowed only from the far-left lane, while going straight will be possible from either the left or right lane. The right turn onto Tukad Nyali from the westbound direction will be temporarily prohibited.

On the eastbound approach to Hang Tuah, turning right onto Sedap Malam will have to be done from the right lane, while going straight westbound will be from the left lane. A separate restriction is also being introduced for Tukad Nyali: from the Sedap Malam junction side, cars and other vehicles will not be allowed to enter, except motorcycles.
The Transport Agency describes the scheme as a trial. Traffic will be monitored on site, and the results will be used to fine-tune traffic management in Sanur.
