Representatives of Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali announce that during the period of the tenth World Water Forum (WWF), which will take place in Bali from May 18th to May 25th, 2024, the road section to Ngurah Rai Airport will be closed. The closure will begin on May 13th, on Monday, and the section is planned to reopen on the 26th.
This closure is aimed at alleviating traffic congestion that may arise due to the arrival of numerous guests. Preliminary estimates suggest that around 50,000 delegates from different countries will participate in the forum, including climatologists, water resource experts, and politicians. Traffic changes are as follows:
- The road to Ngurah Rai Airport can only be used by four-wheeled vehicles heading to the airport.
- To reach Kuta, travelers should use the route Jalan Raya Tuban - Jalan Kediri.
- Motorcycles can access the airport parking lot through Jalan Dewi Sartika.
On the map, suggested routes are marked in green, and the closed road section is marked in red. Appropriate signs will be installed on the closed sections. Note that for those departing from the airport, there will be no changes; the road will remain open. On average, the airport serves 55,000-60,000 passengers per day, with around 20,000 vehicles passing through it daily. The airport management has called on the public to support the redirection of traffic flows and always pay attention to the installed road signs.
