One of the main peaks of Bali, Mount Agung in the Karangasem area, is a sacred place for Hindus. There are several temples on the slopes of Mount Agung, and even a small temple at the summit.
The most famous of Agung's temples is the Pura Besakih complex. Approximately halfway between the base and the summit of Mount Agung, at an altitude of 1,600 meters above sea level, is the Pasar Agung Sebudi temple.

This temple is a good starting point for the shorter route to climb Mount Agung. This route is shorter than the one from the Pura Besakih temple.
Pura Pasar Agung is located on the southern ridge of Mount Agung, in the Sogra banjar of Sebudi village. Its full name is Pura Pasar Agung Giri Toh Langkir.
Pasar Agung Temple is dedicated to all the heavenly Gods revered by Hindus, who provide light, blessings, protection, and safety to nature and its inhabitants.
During the pujawali ceremonies, Pasar Agung Temple is always crowded, especially during holidays such as full moon, new moon, Galungan, and Kuningan.

The Pura Pasar Agung complex consists of two temples: Pura Pasar Agung itself and the Melanting Temple. Upon arrival, all devotees first pray at the Melanting Temple before proceeding to the Pasar Agung Temple.
Climbing the stairs leading to the main part of the temple can be somewhat challenging, but not exhausting, as the surrounding nature offers magnificent and inspiring views.
You can reach the Pasar Agung Temple directly by car or motorbike, although the road to the temple is quite steep.
There is a fairly large parking area near the temple, but during major ceremonies, its capacity is limited due to the large number of devotees arriving from all over the island.
