The fifth Seraya Culture Fest concludes today, 7 November, in the village of Seraya in East Bali.

The highlight of the festival is gebug ende, a traditional form of combat with rattan sticks. Visitors can watch the final bouts from 16:00 to 18:00, and admission is free.
Gebug ende is a ritual for summoning rain: in Seraya it is performed when the dry season drags on. Two men armed with round shields strike each other with sticks. Villagers believe that the sooner blood is spilled, the sooner the rain will come.
The main venue is the Ki Kopang field (Lapangan Ki Kopang). It is about 40 minutes by car from Candidasa and roughly two and a half hours from Canggu.
During the festival, the road by the field is closed: during the day cars are let through intermittently, and in the evening there is no access at all. The detour and parking are shown on the map.

In the evenings, local performers will give concerts on the field; tickets cost 10,000 IDR per day. The festival will close with fireworks at 22:30.

A market featuring local vendors is open daily from 15:00, offering visitors a chance to explore local products and experience the atmosphere of the event.
