Route in Bali. The Wild West.

Prices: free, except for donations and hotel.

Distance: To the hotel (farthest point) from Ubud - 155 km.

Travel time: 6-7 hours with stops.

Difficulty: hard (long route, but the road itself is well-paved).

📍 First stop - breakfast at Deki’s Warung.

A small, cozy warung with an ocean view and a surf point at Balian Beach. Breakfast for one costs around 80-100k.

Next, we drive to 📍 Bunut Bolong - a tree right on the road forming an arch through which not only bikes but also cars can pass. The tree is sacred, and climbing on it is prohibited.

3 minutes from the tree is the next point - 📍PUNCAK TIRTA Manggis Sari.

This place is run by a local. Here you can have coffee, take photos on a platform right on a durian tree, and swing! Entrance and photos require a donation.

We head to the village of Jembrana, specifically to the pier - 📍 Pelabuhan Perikanan Nusantara Pengambengan.

You will see incredibly beautiful fishing boats here! The road is a bit confusing, but locals will guide you to the harbor. Fishermen go fishing every day on these boats. The incredible, colorful patterns of the boats contrast with the terrible fish smell. Be prepared to say, "Wow!" and "Ew!"

The next stop is - 📍Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.

A Catholic church with stunning architecture. The village itself is very charming, with almost no advertising, and the roads and access to houses are well-maintained. It's quite difficult to get into the church, as it's open only two days a week from 7 to 9 am. However, you can walk around it. The Bendungan Palasari reservoir is also nearby.

We go to a sunset at the beach - 📍Pantai Karang Sewu.

A deserted beach bordering the West Bali National Park. During low tide, boats stand right on the sand and it's pleasant to walk on it at sunset. The park itself is not included in the route as it requires a lot of time and according to reviews, it may be expensive and not necessarily satisfying.
