Motel Mexicola in Seminyak set a new Guinness World Record, turning an ordinary evening into a truly historic celebration. On September 15, 2024, in honor of Mexican Independence Day, a legendary party with an unforgettable atmosphere took place.
The night was filled with a vibrant Mexican fiesta: live music, energetic dancing, and, of course, thousands of margaritas served at a special price of 75,000 rupiah. Both tourists and locals became part of history, as the event is soon to be recorded in the Guinness World Records. It wasn’t just a party; it was an event that left unforgettable impressions on all its guests.
A global star, Benjamin Padron from the iconic Licoreria Limantour in Mexico City, joined the team for the evening. His unique Mexican charisma and mixology expertise turned each cocktail into a true work of art. Meanwhile, his wife, DJ Sussyoh, set the mood for the night with her electrifying tracks, creating a non-stop party atmosphere on the dance floor.
Denny Bakiev, the head mixologist, personally ensured that every margarita met the highest standards. Supported by brands like Guinness World Records, Tequila Herradura, Bols, Corona, and Mezcal Ojo de Dios, the night will forever remain in the memory of the guests and go down in history.
“Motel Mexicola holds the Guinness World Record for the most margaritas sold in 8 hours. What began as a joke between @benja_benja and me turned into a historic night for the Mexicola brand and family. I'm incredibly proud and grateful to every team member who exceeded all expectations,” Denny Bakiev wrote on his Instagram.
The official number of margaritas made in 8 hours was 1,500 (with a limit of no more than two drinks per person according to Guinness rules).
The total number of margaritas sold throughout the night was 2,728.
This event became a significant milestone not only for Motel Mexicola but also for Bali’s social scene, proving that the island can be a place for world-class events, not just beach holidays.
