Last Call for New Tourist Projects: Big Development Brewing in Nusa Dua!

Bali is on the verge of introducing a ban on the construction of new tourist facilities. But this hasn’t stopped certain projects from getting the “green light” at the last moment.

The Nusa Dua complex (ITDC) has partnered with PT Paramita Bali Dewata to launch a new large-scale project on the RA-C1 land plot. This 10,418 square meter area is divided into two zones: one previously housed the Matsuri Japanese restaurant, while the other remains undeveloped and ready for construction.
Over the next 30 years, this land will be developed for residential and commercial facilities, with an option to extend the lease for an additional 20 years.
ITDC’s CEO, Ari Respati, noted, “We are very enthusiastic about this collaboration. It will strengthen ITDC’s position and make this area more dynamic and appealing to tourists. Additionally, the project will support the local economy and create new opportunities for both guests and local residents.”
The project organizers need to move quickly to get their proposals approved, as new regulations banning the construction of tourist facilities, such as hotels and resorts, were set to take effect by the end of October. Although the exact details of the moratorium are still unknown, the government has confirmed that the ban will last for two years, with the possibility of extending it to ten years if deemed necessary.
Nusa Dua is one of Bali’s most popular resort areas, with numerous five-star hotels, white sandy beaches, and safe swimming areas. However, its international recognition falls short compared to places like Seminyak, Canggu, Uluwatu, and Ubud, so the resort aims to attract more tourists who prioritize a peaceful environment and a connection with nature over nightlife.
