In the traditional village of Kuta, a festival has been resumed to remind tourists and locals of the region’s rich cultural heritage. The new format, called Kuta Culture Weekend, will now take place every last Sunday of the month on the open stage at Majelangu, in the Segara Temple.

The first event took place on August 31 and received positive feedback from both tourists and locals. Organizers note that the idea came from the weekly festival held in 2024, which had to pause due to poor weather. Now, the events are more expansive and diverse.
According to the village's art team's coordinator, Dr. I Gusti Made Dharma Putra, the new format allows for a better display of Kuta's cultural wealth: "We used to hold it weekly, but faced many obstacles. Now the festival is monthly, with a new approach and a new concept."
The festival's program includes traditional Balinese dances, gamelan music, mask exhibitions, and workshops on writing on palm leaves. Artists and representatives of the literary community also participate in the events, making the festival a true platform for cultural exchange.
Organizers note that the event has already attracted tourists' attention, with some ordering works from local artists right during the festival. Admission is currently free, but the team is considering introducing a symbolic ticket fee in the future to expand the program.
To ensure maximum engagement of Kuta’s guests, organizers are collaborating with hotels and other accommodations to inform tourists about upcoming programs. The lineup of participants will change monthly.
