The Hamamatsu Open 2026 took place on 17 May at Nakatajima Beach in Hamamatsu. Dhea competed in the Longboard Qualifying Series. The win secured her qualification for the 2026/2027 season of the World Surf League Longboard Tour.
In the final, Dhea scored 15.87 points from her two best waves—the top women’s total at the event. She also recorded the highest single-wave score, 8.67. Japanese surfers Hiroki Yoshikawa and Hana Yamaguchi finished second and third.
According to the Indonesian Surfing Association, Dhea is the first Indonesian woman to qualify for the World Surf League Longboard World Tour. She is also described as the fourth woman from Asia to make it into the elite level of women’s longboarding. Before that, only surfers from Japan had qualified.
Most of Dhea’s surfing life is linked to Bali, although she was born in Jember, East Java. She lives in Bali, in South Denpasar.
She first tried surfing at the age of six and has loved the ocean ever since. As a child, she surfed before school and after classes, often with her father and younger brother. She names Halfway and Blackstone as her favourite spots.
By 19, Dhea had already won gold in women’s longboard at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games. She beat Filipino surfer Jevy Mae Agudo in the final at Monalisa Point. In 2025, Dhea won a World Surf League qualifying-series event in South Korea, and her win in Japan became her second victory at this level.
After the final in Hamamatsu, Dhea said she plans to keep training to prepare for the World Tour.
