Gunung Payung Beach

Water
One of the most beautiful beaches in Bukit. You can swim only during high tide and when there are no waves. During low tide, you have to find a spot where the water is at least waist-deep. Due to the fact that the water breaks on the reef about 1000 meters from the shore and the reef is quite high, no trash reaches here and the water is perfectly clear.

Weather and Tides
Tides and currents are pronounced. During high tide, strong currents are felt, and much of the beach is covered with water.
Cleanliness
The beach is perfectly clean. Clean sand, clear water.
Visitors
The beach is extremely uncrowded. You might encounter around a dozen people all day. It's great for photoshoots, but be cautious because there are signs on the way to the beach stating that commercial filming can only be done with the approval of the banjar (local community).
Infrastructure
At the upper parking area, there are small cafes and toilets. There is no infrastructure at the bottom. There are no lifeguards on the beach.
Access
Initially, from the upper parking area, you can drive down to the lower area via a limestone road carved into the cliffs. There may be a fee for this.

From the lower parking area, you need to descend to the beach using a staircase. The steps are made of concrete and are in very good condition.

Nearby
To the west is the next large beach, Pandawa Beach. On the upper plateau of Gunung Payung, there is a paragliding base where you can enjoy flying.
