"Velvet flowers", also known as "gemintir", are a signature decoration of the village of Temukus.
This village is located on the east side of Bali, not far from the island's main temple - Pura Besakih. These flowers are mainly grown to become part of the daily offerings called "canang sari" that Balinese people make to the gods and spirits.

It's best to visit here during the wet season or after it when the plants receive more rainwater and showcase their full beauty.
Just a few kilometers from the velvet flower plantation, there is also a plantation of edelweiss flowers.
