On February 18, airports in three Indonesian cities—Jakarta, Denpasar, and Kupang—have heightened security measures. Additional security personnel and police officers have been deployed for duty. However, most of them are quite excited, as it’s not every day that they get a chance to see a world-famous footballer in person or even be in the same building as him. Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to land in Indonesia today as part of a humanitarian mission.

Even government officials participating in his meetings do not have an exact itinerary of his movements, likely due to strict security protocols. Ronaldo will first arrive in Jakarta, where he will take part in several events. On Wednesday, February 19, he will fly to Kupang, a city on West Timor in East Nusa Tenggara. Kupang is the main focus of Ronaldo’s visit, as he has a multi-day program planned there. However, he has chosen to spend his nights in Bali, flying to the Island of the Gods every evening on his private jet and staying in a hotel in Nusa Dua.
One of Ronaldo’s key conditions for this trip was having a hotel suite with a kitchen, as he only trusts his personal chef, whom he has brought along on this journey.
This time, Cristiano Ronaldo is visiting Indonesia at the invitation of the Graha Kasih Foundation, an Indonesian non-profit organization dedicated to improving medical services across the country. Currently, the foundation is building an oncology hospital in Kupang, and Ronaldo is one of the sponsors of this project.
Dr. Susi Maria Katipana, the head of the foundation, shared that Ronaldo has 14 scheduled events in Kupang. In addition to visiting the construction site, he will also visit orphanages, interact with local church communities, and donate a car to a boarding school.
The former Juventus and Manchester United star will travel around Indonesia on his private jet, which he purchased last year for €50 million.
Cristiano Ronaldo will be flying across Indonesia in his Bombardier Global Express 6500, a state-of-the-art private jet that accommodates 17 passengers. The jet features:

✔ Luxurious leather sofas
✔ Private suites and a shower
✔ A separate workspace and dining area
Its exterior is just as remarkable—the jet is painted black and prominently displays Ronaldo’s silhouette and his personalized CR7 logo.
Some sports analysts believe that Ronaldo’s trip to Indonesia caused him to miss Al-Nassr’s match against Persepolis on Monday, February 17, as part of the 2024-2025 AFC Champions League. This disappointed fans, but the result of the match did not affect Al-Nassr’s standing in the group, as they remain in third place in the tournament table.

Ronaldo’s Connection to Indonesia
This is Cristiano Ronaldo’s third visit to Indonesia.
🇮🇩 June 2005 – Aceh Tsunami Relief
• Ronaldo first visited Aceh in 2005 after the devastating tsunami.
• During this trip, he adopted a local boy named Martunis, who had survived for over two weeks on his own after the disaster, with nothing but a Portugal national team jersey that he was wearing while playing football when the tsunami struck.
• Ronaldo was deeply moved by Martunis’ story and decided to support him by funding his education and football training in Portugal.
• He also ensured that Martunis learned Portuguese and had a better life.
🌱 June 2013 – Bali Mangrove Conservation
• Ronaldo visited Bali in 2013, where he participated in a mangrove tree planting initiative alongside Indonesia’s then-president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
Now, in 2025, he continues his humanitarian efforts in Indonesia, proving that his commitment to the country goes beyond football.
