In the past year, 34 U.S. citizens were involved in various offenses, ranging from drug-related crimes to general criminal acts.
A total of 226 foreign nationals were arrested in Bali for crimes in 2024, compared to 193 in 2023. These offenses included general crimes, cybercrimes, drug-related violations, and others.
Australians ranked second on the list. Of 32 offenders, 17 Australian citizens were involved in general crimes such as theft and assault, while the rest were linked to drug trafficking.
Russians ranked third, with 28 offenders—20 of whom were involved in general crimes, and 8 in drug-related cases.
Other offenders included 25 British nationals, 12 Germans, and three Filipinos, with the latter primarily linked to cybercrime.
Foreigners Also Victimized by Crime in Bali
The Bali Police Chief also reported that 228 foreign nationals fell victim to crimes in Bali in 2024. Theft was the most frequently reported offense, with 41 recorded cases.
“While foreign nationals contribute to Bali’s economy, their involvement in various crimes disrupts the peaceful way of life for locals and requires special attention from law enforcement,” Daniel Aditya Jaya stated.
He also noted that the crime statistics handled by Bali Police do not include cases under the jurisdiction of immigration authorities, the Bali Provincial Narcotics Agency (BNN), or other investigative bodies.
