The grand finale of the competition took place in the Varuna hall at the safari park in Gianyar. After Devi was announced as the winner, a crown was immediately placed on her head, she was handed a scepter, and a golden mantle was draped over her.
"I absolutely didn't expect this. It has been a dream since childhood to participate in beauty contests, and now it has come true at the age of 24. It's a huge responsibility to represent Indonesia in future competitions," said the winner.
A graduate with a master's in agribusiness from the Faculty of Agriculture at Udayana University, she thanked her parents for their support. She now has a trip to China ahead of her to participate in fashion shows and fulfill other duties related to her title.
She also recalled her journey to victory: the interview took place in February, followed by a preparation period which lasted until the grand finale in April and May. "There were no special difficulties; I balanced everything with training. Of course, I was nervous, but I was confident and believed that everything would be fine," Devi shared.
The title 'Miss Universe Asia' is part of the 'Miss Universe' pageant's strategy to expand representation and recognize cultural diversity. The continental queens represent their regions on the international stage, participating in various events.
'Miss Universe Asia 2025' was held on Bali for the first time and gathered 28 finalists from four countries: Indonesia, China, India, and Russia. The participants showcased traditional Balinese outfits made from endek fabric and participated in various competition stages, including sportswear parades and creative performances.
Women from the Island of the Gods have taken top spots in similar competitions before; last year, a Balinese woman won the 'Miss Cosmo 2024' pageant.
