Balangan Beach

Ambience and Atmosphere
Balangan is a picturesque beach approximately 700 meters long. It is surrounded by beautiful cliffs that offer excellent views. Balangan Beach is a popular surf spot. The place is perfect for photography, especially in the morning when the beach is empty, around 9-10 a.m. Balangan is highly favored for sunset gatherings.
Water
Swimming at Balangan Beach is very challenging due to the reef that extends to the shore. The waves are huge, so swimming calmly is not feasible, but some may find pleasure in battling the waves.
It's better to swim in the northern part of the beach right by the cliff or in the southern part. There are no lifeguards here. Do not swim if you are not confident or if conditions are poor. Do not visit Balangan if your goal is to swim. The chances of finding water suitable for comfortable swimming, with appropriate depth and without waves, are very slim.
Balangan has a pretty good and popular surf spot.
Sand
The sand is medium beige and coarse. When walking, your feet sink deeply into it, making jogging on this beach virtually impossible. Additionally, many dogs live in the warungs near the beach, and if you go for a walk there with your dog, they may try to "defend their territory."
Weather and Tides
During low tide, the bottom becomes significantly exposed, and the water recedes far away. On one hand, swimming becomes completely impossible. On the other hand, the exposed bottom is covered with green moss and dotted with water-carved pits. Against such a striking Martian-like backdrop, you can take quite interesting photographs.

Cleanliness
During the rainy season, tides bring ocean debris here, and plastic litter can be found scattered on the beach.
Access
Access to the beach is very straightforward. There are parking lots both in the southern and northern parts of the beach.
In the southern part of the beach, there is a descent to the beach itself. However, the road is quite steep and rough. It's better not to descend all the way down to the beach. It's sufficient to park at the top of the cliff because walking down to the beach is quite easy. It takes 1-3 minutes.
Visitors
This beach is often visited by wedding and landscape photographers. From the cliffs above the beach, there is a great view of the sunset.

Also, it's from this cliff that experienced cliff jumpers make their jumps. But if you don't have much experience, it's better not to do this. This is a very difficult point for jumping into the water and very unsafe.
Infrastructure
There are sun loungers for 100,000 rupees. There are about ten inexpensive cafes and restaurants on the beach. Among the most popular are Maria's Cafe and Santai Warung Bali.
In a couple of these cafes, very simple rooms with minimal comfort level are rented out. Surfboards can be rented on the beach.
Near the beach, on the hill, there is a variety of accommodations available. There is also a 4-star hotel right on the beach - The Point Beach-Front Balangan. However, its guests complain about poor transportation accessibility, lack of windows in some rooms, cleanliness issues, small rooms, and meager breakfasts.
Nearby
During low tide (0-0.3m), you can walk directly along the reef to the left towards Dreamland. Don't forget to wear coral shoes! However, this won't be a comfortable leisurely stroll but rather an extreme adventure. Along the way, there is a challenging section (a pit) that is quite difficult to overcome.
