Bali is now twice as securely protected from tsunamis, earthquakes, and other disasters.

A backup center for managing the national disaster early warning network has been launched in Denpasar. The main center is being built in Jakarta, with Bali serving as a safety net—if one goes down, the other will prevent the system from 'going blind'.
Meteorologists say that dual control will allow the system to operate continuously even if there are failures in one region. From the new center, warnings can be issued not only to Indonesia but also to 28 other Indian Ocean countries that are part of the international IOTWS system. Thus, Indonesia becomes a key link in the regional tsunami protection.
The building itself is like a fortress: it withstands earthquakes, is equipped with a command center, communication, data storage, and round-the-clock monitoring. Data from all over the country—hundreds of detectors and sensors—converge here. Any anomaly is analyzed instantly.
The project is supported by the World Bank, and the USA has invested 85 million dollars. This is an investment in the safety of millions of people. After all, every timely warning is a chance to save lives.
