Atmosphere:
Liap Liap is a stylish restaurant serving classic and contemporary Indonesian cuisine. The restaurant is located on the first floor of No Mas Bar.
Translated from Indonesian, Liap Liap means crackling, which is created by burning coals.
The name was chosen not accidentally - the “highlight” of the place is an open grill, on which everything is cooked: from meat and tuna steaks to jackfruit and rice.
Coconut shells are used for grilling - the most “organic” sawdust, which also gives the dish a unique flavor.
Liap Liap attracts not only by the fragrant smell of grill, but also by its beautiful design: the decoration here gives preference to calm colors - dark gray, beige, sandy, quality textiles, handmade ceramics, wood, bamboo and natural stone.
The staff is very attentive and service is quick.
Cuisine:
Chef Liap Liap is the “Oscar-winning” Mandif Waroka, who has worked at Bali's best restaurants, Teatro Gastroteque and Blanco Par Mandif.
The menu is a mix of dishes from different islands of Indonesia, Papua, Sulawesi and Bali. Some dishes the chef “stole” from his mom's kitchen. A great opportunity to get acquainted with local family traditions :)
The selection of products is very careful: vegetables and fruits from our own farm, the freshest fish, for which the chefs go every day by 6 am, local and seasonal ingredients.
There are some unique dishes on the menu: for example, Jackfriuit Rendang - jackfruit baked in bamboo with lemongrass, mint, coconut milk and chili. It tastes almost like meat - it's hard to tell the difference.
Also baked in bamboo are rice with coconut curry, duck and chicken in coriander.
There are fresh salads - Young Mango and papya salad with green papaya and Long bean salad with green beans, mini eggplant and ginger dressing.
The grill also serves soups - with crab and beef. There's an Indonesian version of paella, vegetable or seafood. Careful, the portion is large - take two!
Excellent selection of fresh fish and seafood: red snapper, lobster, calamari and more.
Grilled meats: from steaks to lamb.
For dessert, be sure to try the local “favorite” Es Pisang Rai - a sweetness made of banana, fermented black rice, jelly, coconut milk and stiky rice.
Drinks:
The drink list is extensive: there are Vata, Kapha, Pita herbal teas with spices and refreshing cold mocktails.
Good wine and spirits list.
Seniman coffee.
Taxes 15%.
