Bali Buda is one of the most popular chains of organic shops and cafes in Bali. If you need chia seeds, goji berries, spirulina, vitamin supplements, or anything else natural and healthy, you'll likely find it here. By the way, don't write off this place if you're not into the organic 'craze.' There are delicious treats for everyone.
Let's start with the positives and why this place has become so popular. First, it truly has a wide selection of healthy products, ranging from nuts and dried fruits to vitamins and natural cosmetics. Second, you can always buy fresh pastries, bread, and desserts here. In the 'What to try?' section, I'll definitely write about what to choose.
Third, the food is really well-prepared, using organic products, and the menu is incredibly diverse. Trust me, everyone can find something here. And if you're vegetarian or vegan, this place is a paradise for you. Fourth, the cafe opens early in the morning and stays open until late in the evening. The service is quite good, and the staff is friendly. All together, this gives the place a big advantage, so despite some drawbacks, you'll still want to come back.
Now, let's talk about the downsides. The first drawback is, of course, the prices. For some dishes and drinks, I think they are slightly inflated. For example, the coffee here is quite expensive, and the local dishes aren't the cheapest (but I repeat, the food is of very good quality!). As for the shop, 60% of the items are more expensive than in a regular store. But there are unique goods you can hardly find elsewhere, and some inexpensive but healthy or tasty items. For example, you can buy high-quality sea salt, tasty Oat Honey Cookies, or various homemade preserves and jams from Bali Buda itself (if you see Passion Fruit jam in the fridge, grab it without hesitation, it's incredibly delicious).
The second drawback - it's quite noisy here. The place is popular and often crowded, especially in the morning when everyone comes for breakfast. The cafe itself is small, so if you're looking for a quiet and peaceful place, you might not enjoy it here. The kitchen is open, so there's constant noise. But if this doesn't bother you, feel free to visit.
The third drawback - sometimes the service can be a bit slow. They honestly try to solve this problem, and overall there have been big improvements. The last time I visited, I was served in just 5 minutes, although I only ordered coffee and cheesecake, but still.
IN SUM. This place deserves a solid 4 stars. It has its drawbacks, but there are plenty of positives too. Personal recommendation - it's definitely worth visiting at least once.
