Vegan Buffets In Ubud. Where Can A Vegetarian Eat Quickly And Tasty?

Here's a great selection of places for a quick lunch in the abundant vegan food district of Ubud. In these warungs, you won't have to wait long for your order because they operate on a buffet system during working hours or for a limited time. Often, the price per plate is fixed, and you can serve yourself multiple times (of course, remembering to eat in moderation).

Teratai Vegetarian

Opening hours: daily from 08:00 to 20:00
You've probably noticed this place before. It's located inside the Bintang supermarket building. The space is small, cozy, and somewhat worn. All very Ubud-like. In addition to the buffet, they sell bottled coconut water, jamu, handmade chocolates, raw desserts, and kombucha.
On the buffet menu: miso soup, rice, sliced vegetables, vegetable rolls, tofu and tempeh, dishes with curry and potatoes, jackfruit, and delicious eggplants.
The cost of the plate is 60k. Take-away boxes are available (no disposable utensils).

Sawobali

Opening Hours: Daily from 12:00 to 20:00
One of the most delicious vegan buffets! Always available are a variety of freshly grated vegetables, vegan sauces (exclusive), such as tahini (sesame paste), vegan pesto, and mayo, soups, and various vegetables including beans, soy sprouts, baked sweet potato, potatoes, and pumpkin. For protein options, choose from tofu, tempeh, or a bean mix.
Also featured in the café are several types of desserts, such as durian and berry cheesecakes. All gluten-free. You can order a whole cake for your event.
Price per slice of cake is 25k and is not included in the buffet price.
Warung positions itself as a fully vegan place: they cook without garlic, onions, and sugar.
Plate cost is 50k. One additional serving is allowed per person. For children, the price is equivalent to an adult's.

Warung Green

Opening Hours: Daily from 10:00 to 20:00
Green Warung is located in the MAS area of Ubud. Currently, the warung has two locations close to each other, with the same prices and assortment.
This buffet stands out from others with its informality - you can come, eat, and leave a donation. No one here is watching you, keeping count, or chasing after you if you haven't paid.
Typically, I fill up my plate, call a staff member for the final count, or tally it up myself at the end of the meal. Payment can be made in the box by the cashier or to a staff member. Some leave more, some less.
The cost of dishes in the warung is not per plate, as in other establishments, but per serving of a specific dish. Fixed prices range from 5-7k. On average, a meal costs around 40-50k.
Available dishes include pumpkin soup, white or red rice, a wide variety of vegetables and potato options, excellent baked sweet potato, jackfruit, tofu scramble, and tempeh on a stick. They have homemade kombucha, coffee, and tea. Recently, they introduced a salad made from freshly chopped vegetables. There are also take-away containers.
The highlight of the warung is the pies. Carrot, chocolate, passionfruit, orange... all for just 10k per slice (all vegan but not gluten-free and contains sugar). They also offer several gluten-free desserts: pumpkin sorbet and chocolate cake.
