Bali–Banyuwangi to Get Seaplane Service

Aman Air is preparing to open a new route between the south of Bali and Banyuwangi. Small seaplanes, Twin Otters with 16–18 seats, will start flying from early 2026. They will be able to take off and land directly on the water.

Flights will be conducted from Benoa Port in Denpasar to Teluk Pang Pang Bay in East Java. The project is currently in the final stages of testing—assessing demand, environmental impact, and safety regulations.
The company markets the flights as a premium service: faster and more convenient than land or sea transport, plus offering coastal views. The cost and frequency of flights have not yet been disclosed. Authorities in Bali and Banyuwangi are preparing the infrastructure: setting up a water aerodrome and agreeing on the conditions for launching the route.
Meanwhile, the Express Bahari high-speed catamaran service is temporarily suspended. Since October 1, the vessel has been out of operation due to maintenance. According to company representatives, they plan to resume the Banyuwangi to Denpasar route in November. As a reminder, the first Express Bahari catamaran departed from Banyuwangi to Serangan Port in July 2025.
