A NAM Air passenger was removed from the flight and taken for questioning after claiming there was a 'bomb on the plane' during boarding. The incident occurred on the morning of August 5 at Ngurah Rai International Airport.

The message was immediately relayed to the pilot and aviation security service. The 22-year-old resident of Southwest Sumba, who was on the Denpasar-Tambolaka flight, was handed over to airport authorities. For safety reasons, all 129 passengers were asked to return to the waiting area. The plane, luggage, and carry-on items were thoroughly checked; no suspicious items were found. After the checks were completed, the flight continued — without the 'joker'.
“Everything was done according to standard security procedures. No threats were identified, but such incidents are taken very seriously,” said airport director Ahmad Shaugi Shahab. He reminded that bomb jokes in the airport or on board are no laughing matter and are a criminal offense under Law No. 1 of 2009 on aviation. The offender could face imprisonment.
