The drug enforcement department managed to uncover a network distributing methamphetamine and ecstasy in Bali. Nine suspects were arrested, including two women involved in selling illicit substances. This time, none of the suspects were foreigners.

The first arrest occurred on March 4, 2025, at 01:00 local time. Two men, FD (37) and MSB (29), were riding a motorbike on Merdeka Raya Street in Kuta. A search revealed they were carrying a package of methamphetamine weighing 49.58 grams, hidden in a chip bag. Further investigation led the police to the Pulau Bingin guesthouse, where a smoking pipe was found.
The next arrest took place on March 10. Two students from Jember, MA (20) and AFS (25), were arrested in a rented room on Gunung Batukaru Street, West Denpasar. The police discovered 58 packages of methamphetamine weighing 43.54 grams, packaging tools, and other equipment. Both admitted they were working as couriers under the orders of a dealer named Jarot.
On March 13, another student from Banyuwangi, MLB (21), was taken into custody. He was arrested based on information provided, directly in a rented apartment on Pidada IV Street in Denpasar. Four packages of methamphetamine weighing 7.3 grams and drug paraphernalia were confiscated. The suspect claimed he was merely storing the drugs at the request of his friend named Doni.
On March 16, police arrested IKD (38), an employee of a private company from North Denpasar, previously convicted of drug offenses in 2015. He was found with a package of methamphetamine weighing 69.12 grams. He had hidden the illicit substances in the Malang Indah bus parking area on Pidada VI Street.
In total, 81 packages of methamphetamine weighing 188 grams and two packages of ecstasy containing 10 tablets were seized during operations. All suspects are now under investigation. They face imprisonment ranging from 4 to 20 years and fines up to 8 billion rupiah.
