A new branch of the Hermina Badung hospital, part of the large Rumah Sakit Hermina clinic network, has opened in Badung. The new hospital focuses on the IGD — the 24/7 emergency department. The south of the island has heavy traffic and a large flow of tourists, so accidents and other emergencies are not uncommon here.

Hasmoro, CEO of Hermina Hospitals, says the hospital was designed from the outset to cut as much as possible the time from a patient’s arrival to the start of treatment. Inside are an admissions unit, operating theatres and intensive care, as well as paediatric and neonatal intensive care units. All departments are connected through a single system to route patients more quickly and avoid delays in critical cases.
The hospital covers around 13,800 square metres. It has a laboratory, radiology and a pharmacy. A large car park is also provided.
The hospital’s infrastructure was planned in detail. The building was constructed according to “green” building principles and includes a wastewater treatment system. It has its own PLN power substation and a backup generator so the hospital is not affected by power cuts.
Doctors also use a digital EMR system — electronic medical records. This helps them make decisions faster and reduces the risk of mistakes, especially in emergencies.
Alongside emergency care, the hospital also focuses on maternal and child health. It has perinatology departments and child development programmes. The network has more than 40 years of experience in this area.
The hospital accepts patients under the state health insurance scheme BPJS Kesehatan.
This is the 53rd hospital in the PT Medikaloka Hermina Tbk network. It is located in the Mengwi area on Jalan Raya Lukluk. Its opening is part of the company’s strategy to expand beyond Java. Around 200 billion rupiah has been invested in the project.
The opening was attended by Badung Regent I Wayan Adi Arnawa. He stressed that the standard of healthcare directly affects the region’s appeal to tourists. It’s not only roads and cleanliness that matter, but also preparedness for difficult situations.
