The most serious one happened on Sunday, February 15, around 16:30–16:40 local time on Jalan Suweta, near the palace complex of Puri Kantor in the center of Ubud: a large banyan tree fell and blocked the road. The three-hundred-year-old tree damaged parked vehicles and buildings, including the Circle K mini-market and elements of Puri Kantor's infrastructure.
Power poles and lines were affected: electricity temporarily went out on the Jalan Suweta section, and the work to clear and restore the network continued into the evening with the involvement of BPBD and PLN teams. Traffic in the area of the incident was temporarily disrupted, with police and other services also on site.
The cause of the incident is attributed to a combination of strong wind and rain, as well as the age of the tree and the weakening of its root system and trunk.
The day before, on February 14, another tree fell in Ubud (village of Peliatan, Jalan Raya Gunung Sari): it fell across the roadway and caused a jam, but the road was cleared fairly quickly.
