The case involving marijuana allegedly grown in a rented house in the Ubung Kaja area of North Denpasar is ongoing at the Denpasar court.
The main defendant is Dutch citizen Nirul Rashim Abdoelrazak. The prosecutor is seeking nine years in prison and a fine of 1 billion rupiah. He is accused of growing marijuana using hydroponics.

A related case involves a Russian citizen, Ksenia V. She is not accused of growing marijuana, but of knowing what was happening and failing to report it to the authorities. The prosecutor is seeking eight months in prison and a fine of 50 million rupiah for her.
According to the prosecution, a separate area for the plants was set up in the house: a black tent, lamps, ventilation, a humidifier, an irrigation system, CCTV cameras and other equipment.
The police raid took place on 1 October 2025. Officers found 14 marijuana plants of various heights and 91 seedlings. The case file also mentions seeds, as well as fresh and dried leaves.
Investigators believe preparations for cultivation began in spring 2025. In August, according to the prosecution, the seeds were germinated—first on a damp paper towel, then in plastic cups and in a coconut fibre growing medium.

According to the prosecutor, the Russian woman saw the plants in the house and photographed the seedlings. In court, Ksenia denied being the Dutch citizen’s wife and described their relationship as personal.
No verdict has been delivered yet. The court must review the defence’s position and then issue a decision.
