Several hundred off-road motorcycling enthusiasts participated in the Buleleng Fun Trail Adventure, held in the Lumbanan area of Buleleng. The event also aimed to promote the future Lumbanan track, which is set to begin construction soon.
The event attracted 300 participants, far exceeding the original estimate of 100 riders. Enduro enthusiasts tackled a 20-kilometer route, starting in Lumbanan and winding through the forests of Ambengan village.
The route was strategically chosen to showcase the Lumbanan track, a future race complex that is still in the planning phase. The Fun Trail Adventure was organized to support the project, which has already seen progress. Initially, the land was owned by the province of Bali, but it has now been transferred to the National Sports Committee of Indonesia.
Motorcycling associations, along with entrepreneur Ajik Krisna, have expressed their commitment to the project, including funding the land leveling process. Krisna has pledged 1 billion IDR (approximately $65,000) to complete the track’s construction.
The northern region of Bali is ideal for enduro riding, and the track’s development aligns with efforts to expand tourism beyond the island’s southern hotspots. A great example of this strategy is Lombok, which successfully built the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit—now hosting MotoGP and high-profile events like the Porsche Carrera Cup.
Although enduro and motocross may not be as globally mainstream, they boast a dedicated community of fans and athletes worldwide. The Lumbanan track could help position Bali as a new hub for off-road motorcycling in the region.
