In Jimbaran, a private plot near a mangrove area has been closed following a complaint about waste burning on site. The issue came to light through a social media post, prompting local authorities to inspect the area.

The plot is located near Jalan Mertasari in South Kuta. It had been used to receive construction debris for land filling, but household waste was also being dumped there. Some of this waste, including plastic, was burned on site.
After an inspection, Badung’s Environmental Agency confirmed signs of burning, including construction waste and plastic. The area has since been sealed off with an environmental enforcement line and will remain closed until further decisions are made.
The site manager has signed a written agreement to stop burning waste and to cease accepting both construction debris and household rubbish.
The case drew particular attention due to the quick response from local services after the issue was reported online. Burning waste near mangroves is especially concerning, as these ecosystems play a key role in protecting coastlines and providing habitat for wildlife.
