Canyon Access to Tanah Barak Beach Now Closed to Private Vehicles!

In one of the most photogenic spots in Bukit, located near the famous Pandawa Beach, the Tanah Barak Canyon, private vehicles are now prohibited. Tourists will need to either walk or use a paid shuttle service.
Now visitors can fully enjoy the beauty and tranquility of Tanah Barak without motorcycles and cars passing by. There's also hope that this change will help preserve the cliffs and surrounding area, including the beach, keeping them clean and orderly. Plus, visitors will be able to take beautiful photos with the cliffs as a backdrop, rather than someone else’s car.
The director of this tourist area, Ni Luh Hepi Wiradhani, stated that the changes came into effect on August 28. “These new regulations were implemented in response to numerous requests to better manage the Tanah Barak area so that passing vehicles would not disrupt visitors' experience. We have introduced new rules and hope that visitors will find it more convenient,” said Wiradhani.
Visitors can reach Tanah Barak from Pandawa Beach or through the main entrance to Tanah Barak Beach, but parking for private cars in this area is prohibited. Visitors must leave their vehicles at the designated parking lot. From there, they can either walk to Tanah Barak or take a shuttle. The shuttle ride costs 25,000 IDR per person, which includes a drink. “This price applies to all guests, both local and foreign, regardless of age,” added Wiradhani.
On average, about 800 visitors use the shuttle service through Tanah Barak daily. “Since these regulations were introduced, we’ve continued to receive positive feedback, with visitors feeling more comfortable without passing traffic,” Wiradhani concluded.
Tanah Barak, also known as Batu Barak, is a new beach located in the eastern part of Pandawa. It was opened in 2023 and quickly gained popularity due to the numerous photos on social media of the road running between two cliffs.
