Bingin Beach in Pecatu will be upgraded in stages. The Badung authorities plan to start the first stage in June or July 2026. The project is currently being refined at the detailed engineering design stage.

The first stage will focus on basic infrastructure: access to the beach, a clean water supply network, showers, public toilets, and preparing the site for further construction. They also plan to widen the descent to the beach. The new staircase should be about three metres wide, so it is easier and safer for visitors to pass each other when going up and down.
The authorities are also discussing how to accommodate local vendors at Bingin after the upgrade. The project considers wooden kiosks, a relaxation area, a performance space, and possible shoreline protection in case of very high tides, if calculations show it is needed.
Previously, Badung Regency allocated IDR 20 billion for the Bingin upgrade in the 2026 budget. At the time, officials also said that after the demolition the area still needed clearing, and that work would continue through the Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency.

Bingin drew attention after the demolition of 48 buildings in July 2025. These included cafés, restaurants, villas, homestays, and other tourist facilities. The authorities said the businesses violated zoning rules, were located in a green zone or on state land, and had no permits. After the demolition, debris, construction waste, and hazardous materials remained on the beach.
Bingin is on the Bukit Peninsula, in the Uluwatu area. It is a small beach below the cliff and one of the well-known surf spots in South Bali.
