More Flights, More Islands: Bali Expands Its Air Network

Ngurah Rai Airport continues to expand its air network. On December 5th, the first direct flight from Denpasar to Jember by Wings Air took place, providing convenient connections between Bali and East Java. Previously, tourists had to reach Jember via transfers through other cities. Now, the journey takes less than an hour with a direct flight.

The Denpasar-Jember flight operates three times a week — on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The journey takes only 36 minutes, with ticket prices starting at 460,000 rupiah. The first flight showed strong demand: there were 64 passengers onboard out of a possible 72.
From Jember, it is convenient to reach the volcanoes Bromo and Ijen, Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, Meru Betiri National Park, and coffee and cocoa plantations. You can also travel there by land transfer with maximum comfort with MyBaliTrips.
Starting December 15, TransNusa Airlines is adding three more routes:
  • Denpasar–Lombok (from 634,237 rupiah)
  • Denpasar–Bima (from 889,218 rupiah)
  • Sorong–Timika (from 1 million rupiah)
Tickets are already available for booking.
The expansion of the route network makes Bali an even more convenient hub for travel across Indonesia.
From the island, you can now quickly reach Lombok with its pristine beaches and Mount Rinjani Volcano, Bima — the gateway to the island of Sumbawa with pink beaches and traditional villages, Papua — the most remote and exotic region of Indonesia with unique nature and indigenous peoples, as well as Jember for lovers of volcanoes, waterfalls, and authentic Java without the tourist crowds.
Each new route strengthens Bali's position as the country's main air gateway and opens up more opportunities to explore diverse Indonesia beyond the usual tourist trails.
