Dea at Klymax

Dea (real name Aradea Barandana) started his DJ career back in school, playing music for a breakdancing crew. What began as a simple love of rhythm quickly turned into a drive to bring people together through music — he went on to run his own parties in Jakarta, where his eclectic taste took shape.

Later, while studying in London, he immersed himself in the underground scene and rare “cosmic” sounds, developing a style that’s hard to pin down to a single genre.

His sets blend exotic psychedelia with electronic grooves that go beyond familiar genre boundaries. Dea has released music both solo and as part of the projects Precious Bloom and Zatua, and has collaborated with a range of artists — from DJ Harvey to Ricardo Villalobos. He has also released on the Gudu Records label.

Coming up is his long-awaited solo album on Rush Hour Records in summer 2025, underlining his status as an artist with a constantly evolving sound and a strong connection to the global electronic scene.
