Initially reported as being from Poland, it was later revealed by the police that Hanna was from Belarus, registered as a student at the University of Warsaw in Poland.
It is known that Hanna and the bus carrying a group of elementary school students from Bantul, Yogyakarta, were traveling side by side from west to east. At the time, Hanna was moving in the front part of the bus, on the left.
The driver attempted to overtake the bike but collided with Hanna's motorcycle, leading, according to police assumptions, to the student being run over by the bus's wheel.
The body of the deceased was taken to Professor Ngory Hospital in Denpasar. The bus driver and his assistant were taken in for questioning by the Denpasar traffic police.
According to Satake Bayu, head of the Bali police public relations department, the number of accidents and fatalities from road traffic incidents is quite high. He urged the public to always be cautious, disciplined, and not to violate traffic rules to preserve their own lives and others'.
