Prosecutors in Bali have asked for a Belarusian citizen to be sentenced to nine years in prison and fined 100 million rupiah over cocaine and marijuana.

If the fine is not paid, 60 days will be added to his sentence. This is the prosecutor's demand, not a verdict: the defence will respond at the next hearing at the court in Denpasar.
In April, Gleb S., who is 30, went to the reception desk of a hotel in Jimbaran to collect a parcel containing seven bags of marijuana weighing 483.5 grams in total. The police already knew about the parcel and arrested him on the spot.
At the guesthouse in Ungasan where he was staying, 33.69 grams of cocaine were found in his shoes, and a urine test showed traces of the drug.
The prosecution alleges that he possessed the drugs and acted as an intermediary in a deal involving them. According to the case file, the parcel was sent by a man named Egor, who is now wanted. Gleb S. gave him another person's address.
When the parcel arrived, that person left it at the hotel reception at the defendant's request. In April, the police believed the parcel had come from Switzerland and that Gleb S. had obtained the cocaine from an acquaintance in Georgia.

His lawyer says that the defendant has no family or friends with him in Indonesia. As a result, he finds it difficult to understand what is happening in court and how to defend himself.
