Travelers return to Bali again and again, but even spending a lot of time here, it's impossible to visit all the waterfalls on the island. From mountains to the ocean, at every turn, you can find waterfalls – big and small, famous and secret.
Temesi Waterfall, located in the small traditional village of the same name, is a true gem hidden from the eyes of mass tourism. It was discovered quite recently. Currently, no more than a dozen tourists visit this natural attraction each day, but this place is no less impressive than the island's most famous waterfalls. Temesi, along the Sangsang River, descends down the moss-covered rock and disappears into the lush greenery of the jungle.
The village of Temesi is a 40-minute drive from the center of Ubud. You can start your waterfall journey from here. Depart early in the morning from Ubud and spend the first half of the morning disconnecting from the outside world, alone with nature. After Temesi, head to Goa Rang Reng Waterfall, just a 15-minute drive away. A completely different, wide waterfall inside a canyon will impress you no less. For a lunch break, you can drive another 5 minutes down the road and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of Taman Sari Waterfall with a natural pool.
These waterfalls are slightly off the beaten path. The team managing the Temesi area is actively working to include this natural site on the map of Bali's tourist attractions.
The most famous and frequently visited waterfalls near Ubud are Kanto Lampo, Tegenungan, and Tukad Cepung. Wedding ceremonies are planned to be held at Nung-Nung Waterfall.
But for tourists wishing to be alone with nature, Temesi Waterfall can be a place worth adding to the list of must-visit destinations.
