Penicillin, a trailblazer in the world of sustainable bars, is Hong Kong’s first "closed-loop" bar, and it’s making waves in the city’s metropolitan jungle. Led by the dynamic Indonesian couple, Laura and Agung Prabowo, hailing from Borneo and Jakarta, the bar has become a global hub for regeneration and innovation in the cocktail scene. With a focus on artisanal spirits and local sourcing, Penicillin crafts unique drinks from scratch, bringing together tradition and modernity. Born during the pandemic as a small, laboratory-style hub, Penicillin has since grown into a beacon for sustainability. The bar showcases local and upcycled ingredients, and their Stinky Room, a climate-controlled fermentation enclosure, produces a range of organic ferments used in their creations. Just a short walk from the flagship venue, Penicillin’s newest project, The Lockdown, transports guests back 100 years to the prohibition era.

This rebellious venue is inspired by the underground spirit of the 1920s, offering a revolutionary approach to mixology while continuing their commitment to sustainability.
