Take part in a moving story of leadership, loss and the raising of a young chief. Tinle, a chief, experiences the tragic loss of his son while traveling from the salt lakes of Tibet. Blaming Karma, his son's friend, Thinle refuses to bless him as the new chief. Instead, he organizes a rival caravan to exchange salt for grain in lower Nepal. The journey involves Thinle, old men, his son's widow, his grandson, and his second son, a monk.
