Date & Time: 📅 Date: February 10, 2024 🕒 Time: 17:00-12:00 📍 Venue: Labrinth Studios
Renowned psychedelic bass music producer LIQUID BLOOM will lead a sonic celebration of Chinese New Year 2024 (YEAR OF THE DRAGON) on Saturday, February 10 at the immersive Labrynth Studios in Nuanu. We gather with the intention to bring blessings of good fortune and abundance into this next cycle and celebrate with a powerful lineup of international artists - the enchanting psychedelia of LIQUID BLOOM, the driving rhythms of JUNGLE KITCHEN, the hip-hop tea art of CULCHA COLLECTIVE and the touching vocals of HARTWELL.
Labrynth Studio is a haven for artistic expression. The intimate setting and state-of-the-art acoustics provide the perfect backdrop for this transformative event, ensuring that every note sounds authentic and impactful.
Liquid Bloom is a collaborative music project led by producer Amani Friend of Desert Dwellers. The project combines downtempo, ambient, world and psychedelic elements to create a mesmerizing sound that is both meditative and energizing. Liquid Bloom has worked with artists from around the world such as Porangi, Deya Dova and Mose, drawing inspiration from nature and the power of music to heal and inspire. The project's unique and uplifting sound has gained a loyal following around the world and is a must-see for fans of electronic and world music. Performing live or in the studio, Liquid Bloom strives to create a sonic prayer for healing and transformation, infusing each track with magic and wonder.
Introducing Jungle Kitchen, a dynamic musical fusion born in the lush jungles of Bali, Indonesia. This band is the creative brainchild of two talented individuals: French multi-instrumentalist Batiste Sejourn and Ecuadorian producer and multi-percussionist Pablo Vicencio, known in the music world as Shamanic Catharsis. Jungle Kitchen thrives on the eclectic collaboration of these two artists, who bring their unique cultural backgrounds and musical experiences to the forefront. Drawing inspiration from the natural beauty and mystery of the jungle, they create mesmerizing organic soundscapes that transport listeners into uncharted sonic realms.
Taste connoisseurs and tea connoisseurs from Ubud, CulCha Collective, take over the tea table with puerh and hip-hop performance. Travel back in time to ancient China and the tradition of "tea art", when sages and scholars would gather around a teapot to indulge their senses with exquisite music and dance performances. This art form continues to live on in the CulCha collective - with a modern interpretation. Old instruments have become NRYN turntables, ancient poetry has been reinterpreted in Kamau Abayomi's hip-hop freestyle, and calligraphy has become graffiti. Tea master Fei Jie steps out from behind the tea table to demonstrate traditional Chinese dance mixed with kung fu from the city streets.
Hartwell Sawyer, a singer and songwriter from Kentucky, captivates audiences with her powerful voice and soulful songs accompanied by piano and Hawaiian guitar. Like Adele and Amy Winehouse, her enchanting storytelling and performances have made her a favorite at transformational festivals including Coachella and Bali Spirit Fest. Hartwell currently lives in Bali and is set to release her debut album in February 2024.
