Join Catur Hari Wijaya for this special drumming workshop starting on Friday, October 11.

The sessions run in one week - 4 classes of 2 hours.A total of 8 hours of instructions.

About the teacher:Catur Hari Wijaya is a dynamic world musician, multi-instrumentalist and drum teacher based in Ubud. He plays more than 20 instruments such as strings and flutes. However, percussions became Catur's main instruments when he fell in love with Djembe in 2005. During his life, Catur had the chance to study traditional music with great masters such as Mady Keita, Boubacar Gaye, Mohammed Bangoura, M'bemba Bangoura and Bassidi Kone. In 2018, Catur visited Mali in West Africa, to deepen his musical knowledge and to experience the traditional context of drumming in the motherland of Djembe. 
Catur is passionate about uniting ancient music heritages, regularly composing and performing works that draw upon traditions from West Africa, India and Indonesia. Catur performs at major festivals around the Indonesian archipelago and is very active on the musical scene in Bali both as a teacher and a performer.
