Darbuka Rhythms - Drumming Workshop

Dive into the world of Middle Eastern drumming with our Darbuka Rhythms Workshop at Ubud Drum, led by the talented multi-instrumentalist, Adam Alydrus.This immersive program is designed for beginner to intermediate students looking to master traditional Darbuka (Dounbek) rhythms in a supportive, hands-on environment.

The sessions run in 4 classes of 2 hours with one day break in between.A total of 8 hours of instructions.

DATES:•  Saturday, October 26, 10am-12pm•  Sunday, October 27, 10am-12pm•  Tuesday, October 29, 10am-12pm• Wednesday, October 30, 10am-12pm➝ Student's performance to culminate the workshop on Wednesday evening at a famous open mic in Ubud!

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:•  Basic Sounds: Master the fundamental Darbuka sounds that form the basis of your drumming.• Traditional Rhythms: Explore and practice key Middle Eastern rhythms that have shaped the region's musical traditions.•  Darbuka Method: A complete breakdown of techniques, even for absolute beginners.•  Building a Drum Solo: Discover how to create dynamic, expressive drum solos that captivate any audience.

•  8 Hours of Instruction: Across 4 days, you’ll dive deep into the art of Darbuka drumming.

•  Student Performance: Showcase your skills with a live performance at the end of the program.

•  Video Recap: Receive the videos covering all the material taught in the workshop, so you can continue practicing long after the course ends.

•  Drums Provided: Don’t have a drum? No problem—Darbukas will be provided for all participants.
