Drum lessons for kids are a great way to help them develop rhythmic and psychomotor skills. Drumming is an excellent way for children to learn self-awareness, listening skills, coordination of breath and movement, cooperation and patience. It’s a very healthy way for them to develop.

About the teacher Catur Hari Wijaya:
A dynamic world musician from Java, Catur plays music as far back as his memory goes, and he masters more than twenty instruments such as drums, strings and flutes. However, percussions became Catur’s main instruments when he fell in love with Djembe in 2005. During his life, Catur had the chance to study traditional music with great masters such as Mady Keita, Boubacar Gaye, Mohammed Bangoura, M’bemba Bangoura and Bassidi Kone.
In 2018, Catur visited Mali in West Africa, to deepen his musical knowledge and to experience the traditional context of drumming in the motherland of Djembe. Catur is passionate about uniting traditional music styles, regularly composing and performing works that draw upon traditions from Indonesia, West and North Africa, and India. Based in Bali, where he teaches drum since 2012, Catur is also the member of many different percussion bands and he often performs at major festivals around the Indonesian archipelago.
