Music Performance with Mid- Eastern Dinner

Anello “Lalloji” Capuano will take you on a dream-like journey through the world of Middle Eastern musical instruments with the Ud, the short-neck lute of the Middle East, the long-neck lute Saz from Turkey, the Persian zither Santur, the mystical Middle Eastern flute Ney from Turkey, dear to Jalaluddin Rumi, and the Darbuka, the popular drum of bellydance music.

A program of World Music original compositions and improvisations inspired by and rooted in the ancient classical and popular traditions of North Africa and the Middle East, set to sophisticated and exciting original full orchestra Middle Eastern loops and play-backs.

Bio:
Anello is an Italian born multi-instrumentalist and ethno-musicologist. He composes, arranges and produces in several musical fields including medieval, mediterranean, oriental, world, ethno-electro and improvised music.

Initially a jazz and rock musician he then studied from 1970 to 1982 at the Conservatory of Music in Marrakech (Marocco) and at the Benares Hindu University in Varanasi (India),¬ and subsequently with various masters of different eastern musical traditions.

While living in South of France (for 7 years) and in Paris (for 15 years) , he has been the leader or a member of a wide range of music and theatre ensembles and has performed extensively in Europe, in the USA, in the Middle East, in Africa and Asia.
He has recorded more than 30 CD’s and has appeared in many radio and television broadcastings.
He lives in Bali since 2006 and he is currently working in his home-studio on personal projects that combine the sample computer based electronic music production with the acoustic sound of ethnic instruments of the oriental world as well as producing and collaborating with local and visiting artists.
