✨✨✨ Introduction ✨✨✨
Me and my Teacher Younis feel honored to facilitate and introduce to you this 6 day Immersion into different forms of conscious martial arts and body being practises. Our training is based on correct body alignment and movement as opposed to reliance on muscle strength.
It is based on accurate timing as opposed to reliance on speed.
We also teach our students to be aware of and use space and distance.
This is all achieved through relaxation instead of tension.

We are very interested in Mindfulness so that attention is focused on the present moment and events
can be dealt with in a calm and efficient manner. When the mind is truly calm there is no
tension in the body. When the body is truly relaxed there is no tension or stress in the mind.

Any type of physical contest or conflict is nothing more than a form of interaction.
A deep understanding of how to interact effectively, taught through fun games, makes our approach very powerful.

Our training can be enjoyed by anyone regardless of fitness level, gender or age. If you are older,
overweight and/or unfit, you can still become effective at our self defence without worrying about needing to become “fit and lean”.
If however, you do want to increase fitness and lose weight, our system is effective.
It includes mobilisation, flexibility and movement training, all of which can have huge health
benefits. The martial games and exercises, which are both challenging and fun, can also offer a useful cardio vascular workout,
but again , especially here, we ensure that we’re working with our students at their level.

We include training in meditation consciousness and mindfulness.
You quickly realise that the more relaxed you become, the more effective you become.

We learned these principles through decades of training in Bujinkan Ninjutsu (the origin of the word Ninja),
Cheng Hsin (The Art Of Effortless Power) , and Tai Chi.

✳︎ Younis Fakhfakh holds a Degree in Psychology from the University of Birmingham and a Masters Degree in Psychoanalytic Studies from Leeds Metropolitan University. During his time as a student, he began training in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu Martial Arts and as a result of this became increasingly interested in physical therapies as well as those relating to the mind. In 1998 his instructor in Doncaster introduced him to Amatsu, and indeed helped a back complaint he had at the time. From this time he began studying the system and on returning to Ireland, completed his training with William Doolan in Dun Laoghaire in 2001. Since then he has done postgraduate training in the Shinden jutsu and Kenku Jutsu levels of the therapy with Dennis Bartram. He also attended a seminar taught by Thomas Myers (author of the book Anatomy Trains) on Structural Integration (also known as Rolfing), as well as another with James Waslaski on Orthopaedic Massage.

In 2005 he received his Godan (5th dan) in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu from Hatsumi Sensei , giving him the right to teach this Martial system. In 2006 he was given permission to teach Wu style Tai Chi by Sifu Sam Li.
He has been training in a system of Martial Arts, Body Awareness and Mind Training known as Cheng Hsin since 2006. This was first developed by Peter Ralston (based on the latter’ s extensive 50 years experience of Martial Arts in the Far East and the West). In 2012, he was awarded Degree 1 in the system and given permission to teach it after spending a month in Texas training with Master Ralston.
He has also attended several seminars on the Feldenkrais Technique. He has recently taken up training in Muay Thai.

Today he runs busy clinics in Dublin and in Delvin, Co Westmeath. He runs Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu, Tai Chi and Cheng Hsin style classes, often looking for the universal principles common to these disciplines. He attends regular classes in Martial Arts and Yoga, and constantly updates his training in Amatsu and other Physical Therapies
