Atmosphere and Ambiance:
The beach is suitable for enthusiasts of exotic destinations who wish to see a beach with black volcanic sand. It's a very atmospheric place with black sand and two-meter waves!
You can also catch sunrises here as it's on the eastern part of Bali.

Water:
The beach is not suitable for swimming due to very strong waves and currents. Waves can reach up to 2 meters high, and there are rocks in the water that can pose a danger to swimmers.
This beach is popular among advanced surfers. There's a fast, powerful right-hand tube wave and a lesser-quality left-hand wave. Many professional surfers frequent the area. The lineup is very close to the shore, and there's a channel for easy paddling out.
There are also many local surf spots.
In 2013, this beach hosted a stage of the ASP World Tour surfing championship. It's not recommended for beginners in the first couple of years of surfing here.

The beach can sometimes have a lot of litter. Efforts are made to clean it up, but the cleaning is not always consistent.

Access to the beach is easy, with parking available nearby.

Infrastructure:
There are several cafes and restaurants offering local cuisine. However, during the pandemic, they may be closed. There is also a good beach club with a pool, Komune Resort & Beach Club Bali, where visitors can stay.
Nearby, there is the Keramas Aero Park restaurant, which is set inside a decommissioned airplane.
Safety:
Swimming at the beach is strictly prohibited. Surfing is the only allowed activity.
